The absorption of carbon dioxide from a breathing circuit is important for several reasons.
- Lower fresh gas flows can be used (thereby providing economic benefits)1
- Operating room pollution is reduced1
- Heat and moisture are conserved1
The KAB™ carbon dioxide absorber provides a contamination-free system that protects both the equipment and the patient from potentially infectious situations. Designed for maximum removal of carbon dioxide from a breathing circuit by utilising its own valves and fresh absorbent, the system lasts for up to four hours.
Key Features:
- Compact and effective absorber device for carbon dioxide
- Easily removed from breathing circuit to enable rapid changeover and replacement, which helps to prevent cross-infection between patients
- Patented automatic exhaust valve
- Low resistance inspiratory and expiratory valves
- Works with most anaesthesia equipment
- International standard size connections
- Latex-free
KAB™ carbon dioxide absorbers are available in two versions.
Disposable version:
- Single patient use
- Pre-filled with carbon dioxide absorbing agent
Re-usable version:
- Can be easily sterilised by autoclaving
- Refillable via plug at the back of the device
